The monument of Canadian Chinese depicts a Chinese Railway worker & a World War Two Soldier. The hard and often deadly work of the Railroad worker resulted in the death of hundreds of immigrants who could find little or no work. The creation by Sculptor Arthur Shu-Ren Cheng represents the sacrifice from Chinese Canadians in building a united & prosperous Canada.

The main column is a styled version of the chinese character for "Centre". The Chinese characters on the front and back of the column read:

"Rich legacies of Chinese pioneers shining bright as the Sun & Moon great deeds of noble forbears zealed entrenched as Mountains & Rivers".
